Mending Minds
Winter 2021
Fictional UI Group Project
Mending Minds is a mental health mobile app made to deal with
the on-going stigma issues such as the symptoms being
downplayed or made an exaggeration. Users will use this app
and develop a deeper understanding of how to be aware of close onesaround them that are struggling with their mental health.

THE PROBLEM
end goal
To create an social change app so it can play a part in reducing stigma by providing incentives to users as they donate and get the conversations of all mental health issues started.

The incentives will be different upon users' response on what they feel their close ones are struggling with.
We hope that as more users interact with this app and receive the gifts, there will be more open honest and
deep conversations about all mental health.

With the understanding, users can therefore provide proper care or help their close ones need.

Takeaways of the apps from these companies:

-
User interactive / engaging ; allows the user to get what they need done
-
Clean, sleek look
-
Limited colours used to keep it more "modern"
-
allows users to create an account in which they can return to e.g., multiple times a day
Our (2) research methods
To get a better insight, we created a empathy map where we provided four (4) different categories/sections:

1. How do you Think and Feel about Mental Health

2. What have you heard about the topic?

3. What have you seen and/or experienced?

4. What do you feel you should say to others?

We created a user Journey in hopes to hypothesize what the user would come across when they use our app.

*This will depend based upon whether if they are a brand new user or a returning one who can login to their account.
